After another challenging and eye-opening year is coming to an end. As the hours start to fade away from 2021, a self-reflection and lessons learned have come to the forefront in my mind. I would like to share some of the lessons learned previously and reinforced in 2021 with everyone. Please see below:
• Walk away from pleasing people who never see your worth or deliberately put you down.
• Do not entertain judgmental people who do not know your struggle or what you’ve been through.
• Never be a prisoner of your past mistakes and fears, it was a lesson not a life sentence; therefore, don’t let it determine your fate.
• Never give up.
• Be aware of the blessings in your life and embrace them.(Occasionally, I smile from ear to ear and look up and say, “Thank You God, I know that was you.”)
Most importantly, during this past year, I decided to write this blog about my past and ongoing cancer survivor story in an open and honest way of how my life was completely changed and how I was blessed with life despite the medical reports. This blog has been both therapeutic and joyous to share some of the most devasting and victorious moments in my life. Me being alive today despite all the medical reports is a testament that if you believe, trust and have faith in God miracles can happen.

Wow! Your advice for the new year exactly fits the circumstances that have assailed me this past year since the start of the pandemic, though they don’t involve a medical condition and prognosis. I’m happy to know that God has miraculously intervened in your life. May we all be blessed by God’s providential care and seek first His kingdom without fear and anxiety in the wake of temporal misfortunes. It’s in the desert where we are tempted by Satan and tested by God for our faith.
