Being diagnosed with cancer was extremely difficult news to handle and the cancer battle itself was even harder to handle. I knew that having cancer could lead down two different roads, one led to survival and the other to death. As I was in the middle of the cancer battle, I did not know the outcome of my journey but I was aware of how it was changing my life and my spiritual self.
Although, it was one of my most difficult periods in my life, it was also a road that led to gaining a relationship with God. As I was going down this road, I was starting to feed my spiritual side and learn of how life does not revolve around the materialistic things we possess or ourselves. Starting from this point to the present, I have learned that life has so many twists and turns which makes life unpredictable. However, the only unyielding constant will always be God. God will always be with us through the best of times and the worst of times. God will love us unconditionally despite any faults we may have as we are imperfect human beings. Also, going through the difficult road, led me to a better destination in my personal and professional life. I found out that I was blessed with many talents and that I should use those talents to help others. The path that I had envisioned for myself if executed properly could have resulted in vast monetary riches. However, I don’t think I would be very rich spiritually. Due to my cancer journey, I changed career paths and began a new path where I would be helping people that were experiencing difficult barriers in their lives. In this career path, I have not become rich in material things, but I have become rich spiritually. For me, it has been extremely rewarding to be able to help people who have experienced difficult barriers in their lives and to later see them flourish.
At times, traveling on a difficult road can lead to a better path in our lives than the one we had planned for ourselves. Actually, I feel in my heart that I have more to offer to help others for example writing this blog will hopefully help others going through a difficult time in their life such as cancer or have a loved one who has cancer. I hope and pray that this blog helps at least one person to overcome their difficulties in life. As each year passes, I have found new ways in reaching and helping more people. I strongly believe that the best is yet to come in my journey. I feel God has put me in a beautiful journey where my life is not just about me, but about helping others live their best life.
