Humility

Life is beautiful, yet at times it feels unbearable.  Everyday trials can cause a stir of emotions within that may burst out of oneself unto an unsuspected person.  Life is not perfect and we may face a storm or numerous storms in our lives.  I have met people who have endured abuse, hunger, illness, loss of loved ones and as you can imagine the list goes on.  It just amazes me that no matter what they have experienced in their lives, the beauty within shines through.  I have asked, why is it that despite the storms you have withered, you are so loving and caring.  Usually, I have gotten a smile and/or a small chuckle, as all have uttered a similar response, we don’t have any control over what happens our life, but we can choose how we react. We are free to care for others as we let God care for us.

I admire people who choose to shine even after all the storms they’ve been through.  Don’t wait for other people to be the ones who are loving.  Lead the way by being caring to everyone no matter their circumstance. Show them kindness, friendliness, generosity, forgiveness, appreciation and respect. Remember that no one is perfect and no one is above anyone else. We all deserve to be treated with dignity and humanity.

Yes! What I am reminded of by what you have written is we cannot always choose what happens but we can choose how we react. Thank you again for a timely reminder.
