Better Days

I just want to take a few minutes to say how humbled and eternally grateful I am to everyone that has supported me and my dad’s cancer journey through heartfelt prayers of health and good wishes.  Although his cancer journey is off to a rocky start and there has been major bumps on the road at the moment it looks like our prayers have been answered and we are in a smooth patch of road for now. Which leads me to say I have good news to share with everyone. Therefore, to make a long story short my dad underwent his first chemo session successfully.  The chemo was administered over the course of three days instead of only one day.  The oncologist ordered additional testing of a PET scan and CBC in addition to the echocardiogram which helped him make the decision on the treatment plan.  He will be taking this chemo treatment every third week for two more treatments and then more testing will be conducted to determine if more chemo is needed or if he will be switched to radiation.  As the oncologist explained, there are still too many variables to know a definite path.  Thankfully, my dad only experienced mild dizziness, tiredness and of course some hair has started to fall off.  He was super excited that the nausea medicine worked for him and that he didn’t lose his appetite or experience loss of taste.  Thanks to God and everyone’s prayers he is in good spirits right now.  He was cautioned that he may experience more symptoms with the second round of chemo, but he said, “Well, we will cross that bridge when we get to it.” Right now, he is feeling good and has a positive outlook which is all that matters.

Thanks again for all the support, kind words, patience, understanding, prayers and good wishes. From the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely wish everyone many great days ahead and many blessings!!

#Grateful

Hi Kelly, Well a little busy here. Husband had emergency oral surgery on his 70th birthday last week so a little fraught. Nothing compared to what YOU are dealing with. I feel guilty even telling you. Anyhow hopefully God will shine His light on all of us and things will be fine. How are YOU holding up? 💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏😘

Hi Ellen. I’m so sorry to hear that.I can’t even imagine how you must be feeling. How is he doing? How r u feeling? Please never feel guilty for sharing anything and please don’t minimize your struggles. All of our struggles are equally as important to each of us and to God. God is always there for you and so am I. Please remember that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband for good health and speedy recovery. Thank you for sharing and asking about me. I truly appreciate it. It has been an emotional roller coaster. But no matter what happens we need to keep the faith hope and trust in God that everything happens for a reason and things will be better soon. Many blessings to you and your husband 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤

Oh dear Kelly!! That is such a nice note back. Thank you❣️❣️❣️ My husband seems to be mending so we’ll see what the dental surgeon says. I’ll be honest, I was a wreck. And still am. But you are such an inspiration. I think of you and what you have been through and what you are going through now. You are helping your father so much, using your own experience, which is the best. You and your Dad continue in my prayers. I think so highly of you for so many reasons. But thank you!! May God bless you and your father with a positive outcome!!! 🙏🏽 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❣️❣️❣️🌷🌷🌷😊😊😊
