It is with great sadness that I share with you all that my dad lost his battle with cancer. The battle became too difficult for his body to handle, causing his cancer to spread all the way to his brain, resulting in multiple small brain tumors. I came across the following poem which expresses my feelings better than I can of losing my father to Cancer.

Cancer: The Upside 
I am so terribly, terribly sorry, Kelly! I wrote you a whole long comment when I saw what you had written about your father dying. It is something we all must face if we live long enough.
When you were silent for so long I feared the worst. May God protect you and let you heal. It will take time, Kelly, but you will heal. I pray for you daily. Sending much love and a big, big hug!❤️🙏🏽Ellen

Thank you so much for your kind words, my dear Ellen! My father fought a courageous fight, but although his heart was valiant, his body was frail. Thankfully, although it hurts me, I am happy he is resting now and no longer in pain. He is now at peace in God’s grace.
Your words speak truth, in time, I will heal from this loss. Thank you for your prayers. Also, know that I have thought of you and continue to include you and your husband in my prayers.🙏 ❤️

Yes, Kelly, it is sad and tragic but true unfortunately… life goes on despite great loss and, yes, it is wonderful that your father is no longer in pain and suffering. It is horrible to see loved ones suffer. I lost my brother, mother, father and best friend to cancer and the suffering was so very bad because they all lingered. Anyhow you remain in my prayers, too, and I really appreciate that Tom and I are in yours. God bless you, Kelly, and give you strength.❣️🙏🏽🙏🏽

My sincere condolences for the loss of your father. Cancer is a terrible disease that many people sometimes struggle with for a long time… These will certainly not be easy weeks and months. The only consolation is that your father has been released from his misery.

Yes, cancer is a terrible disease that affects too many people and families. I continue to pray for a breakthrough in treatment as I personally know how difficult the illness and treatment can be for the patient and for their family. Here is wishing for better days!!
