Revolving Evolution

We live in an ever-changing world. In every aspect of our lives, we constantly see or hear the need for people to be flexible and adaptable to an evolving environment.  Recently, I hear these terms used more often as we have to keep adjusting to the ongoing changes happening with the pandemic.  As these words were spoken and discussed, it made me reflect back to my own experiences.

As we all know life can change very quickly, in the blink of an eye.  Not too long ago my personal life changed drastically from one day to the next when I went from having what I thought to be the common cold to being diagnosed with cancer.  Before this happened, I had always considered myself to be very flexible and adaptable to any situation or circumstance. Although I didn’t know to what extend until I had no choice and was put to the test.  My cancer journey took me down a path that was full of twistsand filled with unforeseen road blocks. Since my treatment path was different than most with my type of cancer.  It felt like every second I had to face a new challenge. It was literally like a non-stop terrifying roller coaster ride with twists and turns ups and downs feeling like throwing up every second with no end in sight.

Moreover, my life in remission continues to go down an unknown path. The side effects of my cancer treatment make everyday life challenging.  As if that was not enough, I have to continue to be flexible, and adapt quickly to more protocols due to the pandemic for my personal health while trying to keep positive thoughts so can I can truly value and enjoy the gift of life. Having faith and trust in God is what helps me keep going despite all the challenges I face every day. Please remember that each day is a blessing despite all the negativity we may face each day.  We cannot control what happens to us but we can control how we react and have a positive, flexible approach to the challenges we face.
