Exercise VS. Boredom

Boredom caused me to stop my workout routine.  I have no excuses for not feeling motivated to workout except for boredom.  I was used to only doing one type of workout sessions and that is all I would do.  Although, I believe that variety is essential in life to avoid boredom, I was not practicing this in my exercise workout regime.  Plain and simple, I was doing what I had always done and not getting out of my comfort zone; therefore, I was not motivated to continue.  Even though I have a variety of online workouts videos, why did I fall into the same routine.  I was actually following the exact definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  I was in a rut, I needed to get out of it because it was affecting my body and my mental state.  I missed the endorphins from my workouts.  I was feeling drained, tired, with a lack of energy and motivation.  I needed to regain my focus and energy. Fortunately, I have been reading some of the exercise blogs that I follow and they inspired me to stop the insanity and to try new exercise routines. Yes, finally I started looking into the variety of videos and trying something new.  Once I did this, I found that the videos include the modifier version of the exercise, which I found very exciting because that is more my pace.  Now I am happy to report that I have started a new exercise routine and I am in the sore (as in physical pain) stage at the moment.  It had been a while since I had felt this sore from my legs and arms.  I have to continue the workouts in order to push passed this stage.  It is a completely different routine which is exciting because I don’t know what to expect and what I will be doing next.

At the start of this blog post, I said I had no excuses but actually boredom was my excuse to not make exercise a priority in my life. From now on, I will try to make No more excuses, exercise helps me live my best life in improving my physical and mental health.

Remember don’t stay stuck in a rut, keep moving forward, change up your routine, stay engaged. Live your best life now.
